With vast amounts of communications data being captured daily, the ability to visualize and analyse these interactions has become increasingly important to law enforcement agencies. The time, location and frequency of communications activity can reveal a great deal about an individual or organized group. In this scenario we examine the Call Detail Records (CDR) of a suspect caught with a stockpile of illegal fire arms. Investigators hope to identify the source of the weapons through the call activities of their suspect. Using GeoTime’s communication and link analysis tools, we discover that the arms dealer we are looking for has been operating behind a group of front men, helping him to elude authorities...until now.
