GeoTime used in active robbery case in Austria

Since June 30, a series of robberies happened in Austria, taking place in broad daylight at different times and places. These robberies targeted pensioners, and to date, seven victims remain in hospital, healing from any injuries as the robber had been very brutal in the attacks.


In this special report, citizens of Austria get a glimpse into the group of 15 crime analysis specialists who have been working in the background to help solve this case. GeoTime is actively used to map out each robbery – time and location – to outline certain patterns that may point towards the next incident.


From the analysis in GeoTime, police have determined that these robberies were carried out by an individual offender, and was able to collect clear surveillance images of the suspect to pinpoint the direction of the case.
